Designing the Dream Boardroom

We’ve spoken in-depth before in this blog about how important it is to make a great first impression on your clients and how effective office interior design can help you do that. But you don’t want everything to go downhill once they’ve entered your office. Here is some boardroom design inspiration to revive even the most unimpressive reception spaces and keep those opinions of your premises high.

Things to Consider When Designing Your Boardroom

Comfortable, Yet Functional, Seating – For long and important meetings, you want your staff, customers or fellow senior members to feel relaxed and comfortable. However, some soft seating can be heavy making them hard to move. Strike a balance between the two with ergonomic or padded chairs. To view our range, check out our furniture page!

Table Size – It’s easy to think that if you have a 10ft x 10ft room that a 9ft table would fit perfectly in your space. And it might. But we’d recommend you take a step back and really think about your spatial planning. Will there be enough room to navigate around the table when all the chairs are taken? And will you need to place other furniture or technology in the room? Our friendly and experienced designers can help you with this.

Colour and Theme – A boardroom is a professional space, yet it should also be welcoming and gentle on the eye. Choosing the right colour or design theme can have a huge influence on the way people feel taking meetings at your premises.

Plus, who needs a classic desk chair when you have multi-coloured, soft ball seating like this…

Those are conference rooms....

Whereas German consulting business Davies Meyer opted for something a little more street, with a graffiti style black wall, chunky real wood table and floor-to-ceiling windows to make the most of the natural light available to them.

For more cost-effective inspiration why not take a look at the board and conference room design at Postillion hotels in the Netherlands. These purpose-made hotels are created for business trips, conferences and functions, so of course they have some cool and functional boardrooms. And let’s just say, they’re not afraid of colour here.
